I wonder if my daughter calls him Daddy
When he tucks her into bed at night,
Then when she cries herself to sleep
And he tells her it’s all right,
I wonder if she thinks of me at all.
My wife and I decided long ago
That we should try to go our separate ways.
She took our daughter and she left our home.
Then since she’s gone I sit and count the days.
I heard my wife had found another man
That she could love and show how much she cared.
I hope my daughter gets along with him
Without forgetting all the things we shared.
