LET ME HOLD YOU

I tell you now, you needn’t worry
About breaking my heart,
For I’ve been hurt before,
But always I’ve survived.
So come and let me hold you,
And if I should fall in love,
I promise not to cry
When you decide it’s time to leave.
All I ask of you as that
If you should think of me, remember,
That having never held you
Would certainly have hurt me more
Than falling in love with you,
And letting you go your own way.
So come and let me hold you,
If only for tonight.
