YOUR PRESENCE

Come, sit with me here and let’s talk for a while.
The morning is distant, there’s time yet, so stay.
Your presence is soothing, it helps me to smile.
I know when you leave there’ll still be much to say.

The warmth that I feel as you sit by my side
Has lifted my spirits from depths of despair.
I’m filled with a glow that I know I can’t hide.
When I’m in your presence I’m walking on air.

I know you must leave, but please say you’ll be there
When I call for you, as we both know I will.
Then when we’re together again we can share
The laughter you’ve brought me, which I’m hearing still.
