HIGH ON LIFE

I’ve spent my life in a haze,
Sleeping through most of my days.
The nights were so rotten,
They’re gladly forgotten,
But somehow her memory stays.

Since she left me all alone
I’m like a dog with no bone.
I thought there was no chance
That I could find romance,
Then you called me up on the phone.

Now I’m getting high on life again.
I’m looking to you as a friend.
You brought back the smile
I’d lost for a while,
And oh, what a pleasure it’s been
Getting high on life again.

I’ve searched the heavens above
Hoping to find one true love.
I stayed home just crying
And gave up on trying,
But you came and gave me a shove.
