As night approaches once again,
I know that you’ll be there
With expectations running high,
Pursuing this affair.
You’ll meet as darkness falls around,
Excited by the fear.
In shadows you can slip away
If anyone comes near.
At last he pulls up in his car,
And by his side you leave,
Encouraged by the words he says
That you want to believe.
He takes you to the hideaway
Which none could hope to find.
You think how cheap it seems, but then
You chase it from your mind.
You wonder as you cross the room
And then turn out the light,
Will this lead to forever, or
Is it for just tonight?
But then you fall into his arms
And breathe a heavy sigh,
So thankful for the darkened room
So he can’t see you cry.
You’re wondering as you cross the room
And turning out the light,
Will this lead to forever, or
Is it just for tonight?
