DREAMING ALONE

Last night I had a dream
That you were here with me.
We were so happy together
For love had set us free.

In the midst of my dream I awoke
And called out loud your name.
I listened carefully, quietly,
Yet no answer came.

I can’t explain the emptiness
I felt when you weren’t there,
But even though you’re not with me
I’ll know that you still care
When I see you in the morning
With the sun shining in your hair.
