LEAVING PASADENA

It was a Saturday,
Another rainy day like this
When I last held you in my arms
And felt your tender kiss.

I still remember well
How when you said you had to leave
That as I held you in my arms
Your tears fell on my sleeve.

And I can still recall the way
I held your face within my hands,
And how you ran your fingers
Gently through my hair.
And I recall the way you waved goodbye
As the taxi pulled away
When you were leaving Pasadena
And our weekend love affair.
