TOO MANY MILES TO GO

I’m rolling down the highway, hurrying back to my home.
I’ve been away too long and I’m tired of being alone.
There’s a woman back there who knows how to treat me just right,
And if the heavens are willing, I’ll be in her arms tonight.

Eighteen hours in this eighteen wheeler,
And still too many miles to go.
It’s been so long and I need to see her;
I just need to let that woman know
That I love her, body and soul.

I’ve traveled this land and I’ve seen some sights in my life,
But I’ve never seen a thing that means as much as my wife.
I know she’ll be waiting there with a smile on her face,
And she’ll give me the kind of love I could never replace.
