I was standing by the window
Just watching down the street
Hoping that I’d see you passing by.
As you came around the corner
And our eyes chanced to meet,
You saw the tears that I’d begun to cry.
I stood there for a moment
And tried to hide my tears,
But you just turned your head and walked away.
Then as I watched you leaving
I thought back on the years
And knew we’d never share another day.
But as you walk away from me,
You walk away from love.
I wish that you could see
You’re all I’m thinking of.
It hurts so much for me to know
Our love will never be.
So I’ll watch you as you go
Away from me.
