I was spending my evenings in a crowded bar
Always hoping to score, but never getting too far,
When she sat next to me and ordered a drink.
When I looked her over, I could quickly see
She was the kind of woman who could satisfy me.
So I asked for her name and gave her a wink.
Well, she looked at me, then took a second glance,
Then she put her glass down and asked me to dance,
And as we went for a spin, she said with a grin,
“How do you feel about cheating, baby?
If you had the chance, do you think that maybe
You could cheat with me?†I said, “Easily.â€
She said, “My husband is a man who’s the cheating kind,
So I just decided I would try to find
Myself a one-night stand.†I said, “I understand,
Because you see, my wife is just like you,
So don’t worry baby, I know what to do.
Just come with me, and in a little while,
I can show you how to laugh and smile.â€
I will never forget for the rest of my life
Those words that I heard from that pretty, young wife
That I held close to me, out there on the floor.
There was nothing more that she or I could say,
And we both agreed there was no reason to stay,
So I put on my hat and followed her through the door.
When we got in her car, she drove me to her place,
And I still can recall the look upon her face
As she invited me in, then asked once again.
“How do you feel about cheating, baby?
If you had the chance, do you think that maybe
You could cheat with me?†I said, “Easily.â€
She said, “My husband is a man who’s the cheating kind,
So I just decided I would try to find
Myself a one-night stand.†I said, “I understand,
And I’m so glad that I married you.
I love this fantasy you’ve put me through.
If I ever cheat, it’ll be this way,
‘Cause I’ll be loving you until my dying day.â€
