I am not the greatest man who ever came along,
And I may not ever write the greatest country song.
But there’s one who always smiles at every song I sing.
That’s my little baby girl, and to her I’m everything.
I am not the smartest man to pose a question to,
But I’ll always do my best to answer them for you.
Although I’m not always right, my daughter thinks I’m wise.
She thinks I know everything. I can see it in her eyes.
I am not the strongest man. I never made that claim.
When she hurts, I choke back tears; for that I feel no shame.
But to her I’m just as strong as Superman must be.
I grow soft and weak inside every time she smiles at me.
I am not the richest man who ever graced this earth.
Given happiness or wealth, my happiness comes first.
Though I may not ever be the king of all the world,
I can feel just like a king when I hold my little girl.
