A HEART LIKE YOURS

I thought you were the one
To make my dreams come true.
The answer to my prayers I thought I’d found in you.
But you keep playing games
With my poor, simple mind.
How can a heart like yours
Be so unkind?

I used to wear a smile
One time not long ago.
I thought I was so lucky,
But now I don’t think so.
Each time I think of you,
My tears are all I find.
How can a heart like yours
Be so unkind?

How can a heart like yours
Betray a love like mine?
You always seem to use me
And hurt me all the time.
Yet just one smile from you,
And somehow I don’t mind.
How can a heart like yours
Be so unkind?
