Well, I know you’ve seen a smile
At times here on my face
When I hold you in my arms
As we dance about the place,
And I know you’ve seen me laugh
Perhaps a time or two,
‘Cause I feel so at ease
When I am here with you.
But have you ever seen a grown man cry?
Then wait around after you say goodbye,
‘Cause that’s exactly what I’m going to do
If I should feel that I’ve lost you.
Have you ever seen a grown man bawl?
Well, there’s no doubt my tears are going to fall
The minute that you turn to walk away.
I wish that I could make you stay.
Well’ I’m sure you’ve seen a sunset,
Although it was not with me.
I’ll just bet it was romantic,
And you were pretty as could be.
I believe you’ve seen a rainbow
Shining through the falling rain,
And at times I’m sure your memories
Help you see these things again.
