LULLABY STORY

Hush my little baby.
Close your pretty eyes.
Daddy’s going to sing you
A simple lullaby.
Lay your head on this pillow.
There is no need to weep.
I will sing you my story
As you’re falling asleep.

It’s a simple little story
That starts with “Once upon a time,”
And I’m sure you won’t notice
Whether it even rhymes.
Still, I know that you’ll listen
Just as you always do
To this lullaby story
That I wrote just for you.

It’s the story of a maiden
Who is living alone,
And a prince on his stallion
Who gives her his throne.
You will smile as I tell it,
Though you’ve heard it before,
Then we both know tomorrow
You’ll have me sing it once more.

Maybe there will come a day,
After you’re fully grown.
You’ll be holding a baby,
A child of your own.
Then you’ll sing her this story,
And I hope that you might
Even think of your Daddy
As you tell her goodnight.

I love you so much daddy. This is something I will cherish for always. I cry every time i read this… not from sadness, but from pure joy and happiness. As I read it, I can picture you sitting on the side of my bed singing it to me, I picture all the memories I have of you comforting me, being there for me, and for always being the most wonderful of fathers any little girl could ask for. You will always be my daddy, just as Ill always be your little girl. Thank you for the love youve given me. For all the little things that are now such big memories. XOXO
