WAITED TOO LONG

When I see you with him
It drives home the fact you’re not mine anymore,
But I would give anything
If you would just hold me like you’ve done before.
I think I know how you feel.
It’s over for us as far as you are concerned.
I guess you’ve written us off
As another of life’s hard lessons you’ve learned.

But darling, why can’t you see
That it’s not over for me?

I’m going out of my mind.
How could I be so blind
To the love that you had to share?
Darling, I was unkind,
But I’m hoping you’ll find
That there’s room in your heart to care.

But I suppose I’m too late,
I guess maybe I waited too long.
