YOU DON’T KNOW ME

I look into your eyes
And I can see the doubt.
It’s something you can’t disguise,
And I can’t figure out.
If you’ll open your mind
I’ll help you confront your fears.
Then if you cry, you’ll find
I’ll wipe away your tears.

You say that you love me,
But you don’t know me.
You say I’m the one you need.
There’s no need to show me,
Something’s tearing you up inside,
And it’s something that you can’t hide,
But if you think I won’t understand,
Then you don’t know me.

Whenever I hold you now,
I feel your trembling hands.
I wish you could know somehow
My love comes with no demands.
If you’ll put your trust in me,
Then I’ll never do you wrong.
Then maybe someday you’ll see
How much I’ve loved you all along.
