ON MY MIND

I’ll be sitting here ’til closing,
Resting on this stool.
I’m getting drunk and crazy,
Another lovesick fool.
This whiskey’s getting to me,
And it’s not very kind.
If you can stop my head from spinning,
You can find her on my mind.

On my mind, I’ve got this sad reminder,
Of how she said she wanted to be free.
On my mind, is the only place you’ll find her,
Ever since she turned and walked away from me.

I tell myself I’m glad it’s over,
I never loved her anyway,
But when I get drunk, then I believe
Almost anything I say.
With a few more drinks I’m pretty sure
I’ll drink myself half-blind.
Then when I wake up in the morning,
She’ll be the pain that’s on my mind.

If I ever get too sober,
Those thoughts will bother me.
So right here with this bottle
Is where I want to be.
So if you’re ever looking for me,
I’m sure that you will find
That I’m somewhere in this bottle
With that woman on my mind.
