YOU’RE THINKING ABOUT HIM

You said you gave up on loving him when I came along.
You swore that the love you felt for me was strong.
But you don’t hold me at night the way you used to do.
Is the memory of his love still haunting you?

You say there’s some memories that you would like to keep.
Then I hear you call his name out in your sleep.
Then I cry in the night as I lay there by your side,
For there’s a love in your heart for him that you can’t hide.

I can tell that you’re thinking ’bout him
Whenever you’re holding me.
There’s a long-distance look in your eyes
That anybody can see.
Maybe I should give up on love and set you free,
For I can tell that you’re thinking ’bout him
Whenever you’re holding me.

Maybe someday you’ll find that you feel that way for me,
But until that day, maybe I should set you free,
And although it’ll break my heart, I still believe
That it’s better for both of us if you should leave.
