THESE MEMORIES OF YOU

I can still remember, like it was yesterday,
The dress that you were wearing when you first looked my way,
And I can still recall the way you smiled at me
As if to say “I love you”, like it was meant to be.

I still can feel the sunshine that rose up in the sky
That day we spent together, and I looked in your eyes.
The smell of your sweet perfume still lingers in the air,
But when I go to hold you, I find that you’re not there.

It’s just these memories of you that keep me holding on,
And even though you said we’re through, my love keeps going strong.
Yes, these memories of you keep running through my mind,
And no matter what I do, it seems I always find
That I am always thinking about the love we knew
As I’m sitting here alone with these memories of you.

I still can feel your body pressing close against my own.
Those tender nights of passion are the best I’ve ever known.
I still recall the morning I woke to find you gone,
And I can still remember the pain of being all alone.
