HONKY-TONK ATTITUDE

Country music changed me
In all I say and do.
I’ve got a new perspective
From the music I listen to.
I used to like to listen
To the Rolling Stones,
But now I find I spend my time
Listening to old George Jones.

But don’t you get me wrong now.
I still like my music loud,
But lately I’ve been hanging out
With a slightly different crowd.
They like to wear their boots and hats
With their jeans pulled up real tight,
And we’ve been trying to get together
Every week on Friday night.

So we can go two-steppin’, dancin’,
And waltzin’ all around the floor.
Everybody’s ready to get out there and dance
Just as soon as we get through the door.
Now all my friends are quick to say
That I seem like a different dude.
Well, I’ve got to admit, I kind of like the fit
Of this honky-tonk attitude.

So now I like to listen
To these country songs
That have the kind of rhythm
That makes it easy to sing along.
Why don’t you come and join me
Whenever the weekend comes?
I promise you will be glad you did,
Because we’re going to have some fun.
