BUT ONE REGRET

I don’t regret the many nights
I held you in my arms.
I can’t forget your gentle love,
With all it’s gently charms.

I don’t regret the countless times
I whispered “I love you”.
I can’t forget the way you smiled
And said you loved me, too.

I can’t forget the night you said
You wanted to be free,
And now I have but one regret:
That you aren’t here with me.
