NOW I’M WONDERING

I packed my bags this morning
While you were still asleep
‘Cause I couldn’t bear to face you
And have to say goodbye.
By the time you read this letter,
I’ll be headed for the airport,
And now I’m wondering
If you even know that I’m gone.

I wish I’d had the courage
To say good bye to you.
I couldn’t look you in the eye,
Then watch you as you cried.
Your tears would make me change my mind
And I’d stay, though there was no love.
But now I’m wondering
If you even care that I’m gone.
