WAITING FOR YOU

I stayed home from work today
So that I could meet the postman,
And to see if I would get some news from you.
But it was like any other day.
The box was empty once again,
And down inside, I feel I’m losing you.

If you would only write a letter,
Or maybe even call,
Just to let me know
That you still care for me.
If I could only know for sure
That you still care for me.
It would make it easier
To wait for you.

Well, now I wait alone each day.
Seems that’s the way it’s always been.
I’m just waiting to see if there’s some word from you.
And yet, just like all the other days,
The postman runs again,
And it hurts to find there’s still no word from you.
