Though other men could give you gifts
Of jewelry rich and rare,
The only thing that I can give
Is love beyond compare.
Though others may afford to give
You treasures that are fine,
My gift of love is richer, for
The poet’s words are mine.
On silver platters their gifts come
From far and distant lands.
On simple paper my gift comes
With love, expressed by hand.
