JUST SIXTEEN

Well, she was just sixteen
When she was introduced to me.
My friends all told me
She was too young for me,
But I still fell for her.
I fell in love with her.

Well, she was just a child,
Barely old enough to love.
My friends all said that I
Should never try to love
Someone as young as her,
But I still fell for her.

Well, she was just sixteen,
But I loved her just the same.
My friends all said that I
Could never hope to claim
A love as true as hers,
But then I fell for her.
