I watched her as she
Looked out across the pond
With misty eyes and distant thoughts,
And a chill ran along my spine.
Though I didn’t recognize her,
I seemed to sense a feeling
From deep within my heart,
As if I should know her,
But I somehow knew
That she wouldn’t answer.
Then she turned to me with a smile
And waved as she disappeared into the woods,
And all at once I knew
That she was the love of my past
And my hope of the future
Together in one soul.
