A LONELY SONG

I’ve been unable to find myself someone
Who has all the sweet love I need.
I’ve searched all over, but I’ve been unsuccessful
At finding the woman I need.

Please mister singer man, sing me a slow song.
Please sing real soft and low.
Make it a lonely song, the kind that makes you cry,
So that my lonely tears will feel right at home.

I want someone who will try to understand me,
And share all the sweet love I have,
Someone to hold me, someone who’ll need me
And love me the way that I am.

I’ve been so lonely without somebody
To tell all of my secrets to.
I wish I could find me a woman to love me,
A woman who’s lonely like me.
