IMPRESSED

When I first met you,
I could not help but be
Impressed by your beauty.
Though I had seen you before,
I did not know your name
Until we were introduced
And I, like a fool,
Could find no words to say.
Now I reflect in regret
At my inability to speak
To you, for it is possible
That we may have found
A true friendship, or more.
And yet, I can still hope
That we may still find
The opportunity to meet,
And perhaps to enjoy
Each other’s presence alone.
