The wind blew lightly through her hair
As she walked across the green meadow,
Stopping occasionally to pick a daisy
And pluck it’s petals one by one.
She smiled brightly as she walked,
Shading her eyes as she glanced casually
At the birds flying in the blue sky.
She stopped and began waving at me
When she noticed me standing there alone,
Watching her graceful movements.
She ran towards me with open arms
And laughed as I gently lifted her up
Into my arms and kissed her lightly.
As I sat her down, she touched my cheek
With her fingers, and gently traced a path
Along the side of my face to my lips,
And then she smiled and we kissed again.
As we parted, she looked into my eyes,
Then dropped to her knees and laid back
On the soft green grass, reaching her hands
Up to me and pulling me down beside her.
As we lay there together, the wind blew lightly
And the afternoon sun looked down on us,
And smiled.
