OUR LOVE DIDN’T LAST

Kisses traded late at night.
Dancing by the firelight.
All these things I still recall
Each time I think of you at all.

Nights we shared and never slept.
Promises we never kept.
Afternoons and mornings spent
Just wondering where all this went.

Time began to slip away.
Dreams became a game to play.
Future plans are now the past.
It’s sad that our love didn’t last.
