I know that you must leave for now,
Though only for a while.
So as I watch you walk away
I’ll try to force a smile.
Tend to your business if you must,
And then once you are done,
Rush back to me before the dawn
So we may greet the sun.
Each time that you’re away from me
I’m such a lonely man,
So promise you’ll return to me
As quickly as you can.
