About

My name is Steven R. Drennon, and I am retired computer programmer living in San Antonio, TX. This blog was started as a collection of poetry that I have written over the past 40 or so years. I eventually ended up with close to 1000 poems that I had converted and posted here on this site.

I first started writing poetry when I was 15 years old. I did not start saving any of my poetry until a very close friend of mine named Cindy convinced me to do so. (I may have to write a blog about that some time!)

I eventually got around to converting all of my poetry that I have written over the years to typed poems. Almost all of them were handwritten, and I din’t have an electronic version of them stored anywhere. I realized that the risk of losing all of them at once was terribly high, so this was an effort to get them into a format where I could more easily and readily share them, as well as provide myself with a practical backup.

The result of this effort has been a single place where I could prvide access to all of my poems. I may eventually get around to adding additional categories, such as topic, but for now they are simply categorized by the year in which they were written and the book(s) in which they were published.

I hope you enjoy!
